The best way to order a tandem is to visit our showroom, discuss which model best suits your needs and budget, be measured correctly, then test ride one or two or three if need be.

A tandem has to suit both riders and fit correctly. It is also a long term investment of time and money, that is way we prefer to spend time with you ensuring that it fits and is the right choice for you. To obtain the best fit for both riders we use the Calfee 'Bike Sizer', a fully adjustable bicycle jig. See here: Calfee Sizer

If you haven't ridden a tandem before, regardless of how much experience you have riding a single bike, it is a different riding experience and as such, you will both require some amount of training to make sure that your first ride is both enjoyable an safe. Test rides are free.  You can test ride for up to an hour on any of our test fleet and test as many as you like. If you want to ride longer then we make a small hire charge, a percentage of which is then deducted from the cost of the tandem that you order. Further details here.

If you are unable to visit us

We can discuss your requirements via email initially then over the phone (via Skype if you have it for a more personal face to face discussion). We will ask you lots of questions and request lots of measurements (easy to fill in form) and you will probably ask us lots of questions too. Your measurements are input to our CAD software that then outputs the frame size and geometry for your approval.

Collecting or delivery of your tandem

We prefer that you collect your tandem from us in person (however you have ordered it) so that we can familierise you with your new tandem and ensure that you get off to the best possible start, not only do we make it fun, but we tempt you back with tea or coffee and cake!

If you are unable to collect in person, your tandem could be personally delivered(*1) to you for the hand-over and familiarisation, but this time you have to tempt us with tea, coffee and cake.

We can also ship by courier – we quote individually depending on your address.

Parts and Accessories

These are very easy to order via this site, just fill your basket with all the goodies that you want, pay for them and we ship them to arrive within 3-4 business days(*2) if they are in stock, which is usually the case. If some things are out of stock, we let you know when you can expect them.

Please remember that some tandem parts are very specialist with only one supplier or manufacturer and are sometimes made in batches rather than all the time, so predicting demand can be a bit tricky, so please bear with us if items are unexpectedly out of stock from time to time.

You can specify next day delivery or 48 hour delivery, that just costs a little bit extra.

Notes

*1 – Personal delivery is possible in an approximate area covering a 35 mile radius of Ironbridge, a corridor approximate 70miles wide from Ironbridge to London and including the greater London area plus a 15 mile radius outside the M25 – see map for details. A delivery charge is made to cover our travel expenses and and is subject to a mutually agreeable time and date.

*2 - This may exclude hand-built wheels. If we are able to build your wheels and ship them in this time frame we will let you know at time of order. If not, we will quote a delivery date for you.
