Landescape

With nearly 30 years of designing and building tandems to his credit, Peter Bird has developed the Landescape range of tandems to represent the very best quality made-to-measure tandems that you can ride.

We build in either aluninium or carbon fibre. Each aluninium frame is hand-built to order by a specialist manufacturer in the Czech Republic from carefully selected 7020 T6 aluminium tubing that has been specifically designed for tandems. All the welds on these tandem frames are filed for a beautiful smooth finish before a range to hard wearing coats of paint are applied. The carbon fiber frames are made by one of France's most established carbon fiber frame manufacturers.  Again these frames and hand-made one offs for each customer order.

By retaining control from design through to final assembly and hand over to you, we can ensure that you receive a tandem that fits you perfectly and is suitable for the type of riding that you do. Without compromise we can build a light sportive tandem or one for comfortable long distant touring with panniers and a no fuss Rohloff hub. You can be confident that whatever type of riding you will do, we can ensure that a Landescape tandem will fulfil your needs.

We offer two styles of frame in aluminium: the direct lateral design which is suited to most applications and the "V" design which is better for off-road and touring, smaller riders and those with a growing family, or those wanting a lower step-over height.  These frames can be specified with a range of forks.  The standard option is aluminium or choose from Carbon or suspension.  The carbon fiber frames come just in the direct lateral design and as they are made-to-measure we can accommodate almost any size combination.

As each Landescape tandem is custom made for you and the choice of components can be discussed during the ordering process.  However, to give you some guidelines of final pricing, build kits start from around £1500 for 'flat bars' (£1650 of drop bars) including hand-built wheels and disc brakes, plus your chosen frame price.
