We have selected a range of quality tandems and components that we believe represent the very best of tandeming worldwide. If you are buying a tandem from us we encourage you to visit our showroom to be measured correctly, test ride a tandem or two and to discuss fully your requirements.
Landescape tandems are designed in-house by Peter Bird, built to order and made to measure for you. Similarly, Co-motion tandems from Oregon USA can be ordered made to measure. With both of these options we can tailor each tandem to your specific requirements with quality components.
Helios tandems are available in one 'fully adjustable' size and range of component specifications to suit most applications. If need be, we will be delighted to customise any of these models to meet your needs.
Our tandem experts are always on-hand to give advise either by phone or email, so that you can be confident that you are buying the right product. The Tandem Shop was started five years ago by Peter Bird, who has a long history in the bicycle industry, designing frames and building some of the most enduring British custom built tandems. Peter is the chief designer of Landescape tandems and is also the technical director of The Tandem Shop. Together with Rob Wade, they have a combined 56 years experience in the cycle industry and have been designing and selling tandems for 30 years.
We are based in the Ironbridge Gorge in Shropshire. That is where the industrial revolution started and it is a World Heritage Site. We are surrounded by amazing countryside with quite lanes and tracks and astounding cultural heritage. This makes it a fantastic place to test ride our tandems and a lovely place to visit too.
The 'Tandem Shop' is one of a family of businesses dedicated to pedal-powered enjoyment that form 'Bicycles by Design'. The Tandem Experience trains people to ride tandems, organises tandem holidays and runs tandem festivals. The Bicycle Hub services, hires and sells bicycles (the single-saddle variety). 'Bicycles by Design' as the names suggests, designs and hand builds bespoke bicycles and tandems as well as selling a selection of high quality niche brands.
